Vision Aid Compatibility
Not a hearing accessory. It is assistive technology for sight, and it matters because hearing loss and sight loss often arrive together.

IN SHORT
OrCam MyEye, a wearable assistive device for people who are blind or have low vision, works alongside your hearing aids. A separate device from your hearing aids. We can talk through how the two work together and refer you to the right vision specialist.
What it does
OrCam MyEye is a small wearable camera that attaches to the frame of a pair of glasses. It reads text aloud, recognizes faces and identifies products, and it is designed for people who are blind or have low vision.
We list it here because dual sensory loss is common and badly served. When someone has both, the two devices need to work together rather than compete for the same ear, and that is a fitting conversation worth having properly.
To be clear about what this is: it does not treat hearing loss and it is not a hearing aid. If sight is also a difficulty for you, talk to us and we will coordinate with your eye care provider.
Who it suits
- You have hearing loss and low vision or blindness together
- Reading print has become difficult as well as following speech
- You want the audio from a vision aid routed sensibly alongside hearing aids
Will it work with my hearing aids?
A separate device from your hearing aids. We can talk through how the two work together and refer you to the right vision specialist. Do not guess from the model name. Bring your devices in, or call 770-590-8662 with the serial number and we will confirm it in a minute.
Common questions
Is this a hearing aid?
No. It is assistive technology for sight, listed here because many patients with hearing loss also have reduced vision and the two devices need to coexist.
Do you prescribe it?
We do not assess vision. We can explain how it works alongside hearing aids and point you to an appropriate eye care provider.
Will it interfere with my hearing aids?
It should not, but the audio routing is worth setting up deliberately rather than by accident. Bring both to an appointment.
Try it before you buy it
Appointment during opening hours and we will demonstrate it with your own hearing aids. By appointment just to try one.
